All philosophers make the first principles contraries

Paragraph 1 Regarding this kind of substance, what we have said must be taken as sufficient.

Paragraph 2 But these thinkers make one of the contraries matter, some making the unequal which they take to be the essence of plurality - matter for the One, and others making plurality matter for the One.

Paragraph 3 'The one' evidently means a measure.

Paragraph 4 Those who treat the unequal as one thing, and the dyad as an indefinite compound of great and small, say what is very far from being probable or possible.
