Decoupling Corporate Metrics

There are fewer and fewer things which cannot be done by small companies. To understand the extent and significance of this trend we need to get straight the meaning of small in this context. What are the relevant metrics in terms of which we measure corporations, and how do the capabilities and limitations of corporations depend on their positioning against these metrics?
  • Number of Employees

  • Capitalisation
  • Turnover
  • Profitability

  • Influence

  • Donít need to employ, contracting suffices.

  • Can hit high financial targets with low staff levels.

  • Will influence depend on any of the other metrics?
Specifically our interest here is in which metrics determine how influential a corporation might be in shaping the long term future of our global information infrastructure. By thus decoupling corporate metrics, and examining them separately, we can get a better insight into how to get maximum leverage from our own contributions to our future.
